I need to find a good glass cleaner...Invisible Glass leaves a residue and Windex kinda just sucks. Also, my well had really hard water so I get crazy waterspots- don't really know what to do about that.

Get a water softener, it will also help keep your appliances around longer from less build up.

I use Gtechniq G6 Perfect Glass. It has no colours to make the liquid look pretty in the bottle or fragrance to make it smell great (there is a small faint chemical smell but that is only when you hold the bottle right to your nose) which means there is nothing that would increase the risk of smearing or leaving any residue.

Kinja'd!!!

The trick to reducing smears and leaving any residue is to keep folding the microfibre cloth so your not wiping the dirt over the surface but each new clean surface of the cloth removes more dirt.

I don't have hard water but I wash first with Cinch, and then with invisible glass. I have found the only thing invisible glass actually removes is the Cinch residue. I am really OCD about clean windows, this leaves them crystal clear even headed into the sun at dawn. Paper towels are fine, but don't use the same one for cinch and inv glass.. Wipe up/down, then left/right until you can't feel the drag from the previous pass.

Zep non conductive surface cleaner. Works great, also works in near freezing temperatures.

It probably sounds more than it is.

Take a cloth and fold it in half, then fold it in half again.

Kinja'd!!!

Kinja'd!!!

Kinja'd!!!

you have two surfaces now, top and bottom.

Once these two sides are used unfold the second fold and fold it back on itself.

Kinja'd!!!

you now have two new surfaces., top and bottom.

Once used, fully open put and fold the reverse way you originally did.

two new clean surfaces.

Open the second fold again and fold back on itself again.

final two clean surfaces.

The cloth is what makes it. The Rag Company makes great microfibers (korean based). I also use ArmorAll Glass Cleaner and have good luck with it.

As for the water spots, not much you can do other than wash/dry quickly or do it in sections. I have spent 10 years trying to find the best way to avoid them. Ultimately I usually end up using a Drying lubricant (Adams Polishes Guard and Gloss) and it works extremely well to remove all of that as you dry. *Bonus to using something like Guard and Gloss is it gives you a protectant layer on your paint and windows and the water just rolls right off like rainx. You can use it on windows, plastic trim and of course paint. It makes you keep your car wet until you dry it and reduces the chance of the water spots.

I’d use an instant detailer to get rid of water spots. It’s what I used to do, and it worked out flawlessly. Mothers or Megs, both are great. Although if you really want to treat your F-type, hop on Chemical Guys and order the TORQ foam cannon and Honeydew Snow cleanser combo. It’s not cheap ($100), but foam guns are so awesome, and other than drying, completely touchless.

Also RE, waterspots. You can buy waterspot removers but rinsing the car with an open end hose will take much of the water droplets left on the car. Then dry the car one panel (closest ones to the sun first) at a time by spraying a quick detailer onto a cloth and wiping in, turn ove the cloth and buff and then continue to the next.

You can also get inline water filters that connect to the hose (to prolong the life of the filter, just use the filter when rinsing the car the final time before drying) and then dry or use a quick detailer to dry.

Odd – I use Invisible Glass (assuming this is the stuff we’re talking about) with perfect results every time. No streaks, residue, or anything else. Even use it in the house...

My procedure per window or windshield half:

1. Fold microfiber cloth into fourths. The idea is to give each individual part of glass a fresh part of cloth, so as to not carry any dirt over.

2. Spray IG directly onto one fourth, and wipe.

3. Dry this window with another microfiber cloth immediately after. IG dries quickly, but you still have to buff the excess away, basically.

Repeat all the above for the next window.

Most people forget step #3, and leave streaks on the window as a result. Perhaps this is the cause?

I have the same water spot problem. I typically use some spray detailer after drying it to get rid of them.

I like the aerosol glass cleaner that SAMs carries in a three pack. Good stuff, and no residue. White cans, blue or white tops, I forget the name, but good stuff.

Hi. I like to think I do. I’ve done it for several years. ;)

I’ve had great results from Gliptone, Renovo and Sonus products.

Are you U.K./Euro based or in the colonies?

Half of cleaning leather is technique and half product. Even a great product will be mediocre if not used to it’s best.

Below is a great instruction video from AMMO NYC.

Short video.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AhXD_B-x_q0

Longer more detailed video.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Bd_IqK5ydU

But the short video at the top will go a long way in helping remove regular day to day dirt and staining.

The companies I mentioned above will clean and treat the leather however my goto for sealing the leather is Gtechniq L1 which seals the leather and prevents stains and dye transfer.

No worries. I’ve two full bottles of Sonus Cleaner and Sonus conditioner I’m not using if you want them (gratis of course).

They may as well get used.
